What is an I/O? (Audio)?
So in the audio world I heard a guy say something like, “We have a various I/O’s to set up.”
So if a digital audio interface is equipped with 2 channels of digital I/O (AES/EBU and S/PDIF) and 8 channels of ADAT optical I/O, what can it do?
Please summarize and give your words to an audio engineer, producer who would really like to know. I appreciate any effort and thought.
I = Input
O = Output
That interface has stereo channels for digital in and out and eight channels of optical in and out.
On European equipment 1/0 is used for On /Off. It’s one -nought, numbers not letters.
